As we transition into the winter months, we are excited to extend an invitation to you for our upcoming event series
"Farming for People Planet & Profit - Where does Carbon fit in?”.
In today's world, agriculture plays a pivotal role in not only sustaining our global food supply but also in addressing pressing environmental challenges.
Our event series will delve deep into the crucial themes of farming for environmental service, supply chain demand, and food production simultaneously, providing a platform for meaningful discussions, insights, and innovative solutions. We will also explore the Soil Capital programme, the carbon markets and everything you could wish to know about who we are and what drives us.
During our events, we will not only discuss these concepts but also get out on the field to see some of the brilliant work being done by farmers who are leading the way in sustainable agriculture, and using the Soil Capital programme to help them do it.
Here are the details of the events in your region:
November 13, 2023
🕐 1 - 5 pm, 📍Denby Hall Farm, West Yorks, HD8 8YL
👨🌾 ALEX, HANNAH & ROB FRASER / 🚜 95 ha
Not from your typical farming background, medical doctors and husband and wife Alex and Hannah, alongside Alex's brother Rob, took over the family farm four years ago, and have dived headfirst into a regenerative system with a focus on soil health.
So much so that Hannah is currently embarking on a Nuffield scholarship exploring ‘Displacing empty calories with nutrient dense food’.
On the 13th we will learn more about the transition of the farm discussing their Agroforestry set-up and some intercropping mixes that have recently gone into the ground, alongside discussing how the Soil Capital programme has worked for them.
November 14, 2023
🕘 9 am - 1 pm, 📍Street House Farm, North Yorks, DL7 9LN
👨🌾 MARK PYBUS / 🚜 152 ha
Mark is a champion of diversification, both in and out of the field, with a successful cafe and nursery out of the field, and a diverse rotation in the field, integrating cover crops, all under a largely reduced tillage system.
Mark has been in the Soil Capital programme for two years, and has achieved his first payments this June, which adds another element to his diversified income streams servicing the supply chain demand for reduced carbon emissions.
We’ll be discussing all of this and more on the 14th so it would be great to see you there.
November 21, 2023
🕘 9 am - 1 pm ,📍Rycote Lane Farm, Oxon, Thame OX9 2NZ
🚜 Farol HQ (John Deere) in collaboration with Soil Capital farmer ANTONY PEARCE

On the 21st, we head down for an action-packed morning at Farol HQ in Thame
We will be discussing all things Soil Capital, and Carbon Markets. The team at Farol will be displaying and talking us through the new John Deere 750a direct drill, and how the HarvestLab 3000 has helped hundreds of farmers reduce their nitrogen use.
Anthony will also be giving us an insight into his farming enterprise, and discussing how the Soil Capital programme has helped him approach servicing multiple market demands simultaneously to increase productivity and profits.
November 22, 2023
🕘 9 am - 1 pm,📍All Hallows Grain Store, Wimborne St Giles,
Dorset, BH21 5NJ

We head to Dorset to see Farm Manager Andy Meecham, who has worked his way up through the ranks at the farm.
He has transformed the Shaftesbury Estate from a conventional system, with high inputs and high labour costs, to an adapted sustainable farming system with reducing tillage, cover cropping, and reducing inputs in a system Andy describes as ‘Smart Farming’.
On the walk we will explore some of Andy’s intercropping trials, and visit a new Digestate Lagoon.
